Select the schemes

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Editor > Appearance.
  3. Choose a Regex color scheme.
  4. Choose a Match color scheme.
  5. Review a pattern with capture groups in both interface themes.

The schemes include Default, Graphite, Neon, Voltage, and Prism. Each scheme includes colors for the light and dark interfaces.

Select the syntax scheme here. The Match color scheme control is directly underneath.
Editor Settings with the Regex color scheme menu open and Neon selected.

Compare the interface themes

These captures use Neon for regex syntax and Prism for matches. Only the site theme changes between them.

Light interface: Neon syntax and Prism matches.
The order identifier pattern and two captured IDs in the light interface.
Dark interface: the pattern, input, and selected schemes stay the same.
The same order identifier pattern and two captured IDs in the dark interface.

Regex syntax

Syntax colors distinguish constructs within the pattern, such as groups, character classes, and quantifiers.

Test-string matches

Match colors distinguish matched text and capture groups in the input. The match scheme is independent of the syntax scheme.

If syntax highlights are missing, verify that Highlight regex syntax is enabled in Settings > Editor > Assistance.
